Four of us are cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats - about a thousand miles at beginning of July 2010. Neil - Sam - Kumar and Marwan.
We have done some training and have shiny newish bikes - what could possibly go wrong?
Well, lots really because we are unfit, never cycled regularly (just learned the gears- Neil) and are rather tubby (Marwan). But we are all doctors so we should be able to handle most things. (Erh the only real doctor is Kumar- but Sam will look after all the cuts and bruises, Neil after our prostates (this apparently might be a problem) and Marwan will bring up the rear.
Its all in aid of charity and you can find out the details on this link:
www.justgiving.com/endtoendjuly10
Please make donation if you have something to spare - it all goes to a worthwhile cause - helping kids with a rare genetic condition.
We will go by train to Penzance - and start from Land's end on 2nd of July 2010.
Wish us luck!
I'll be behind you all the way. (Well, figuratively speaking I'll be supporting your efforts from the comfort of the sofa...) Best of Luck, Guys. I am proud of you. Claire xxxx
ReplyDeleteGood luck to u all. Sure the cycles will last till the end.

You guys have nicked my missus for a few days! Cheers! Thanks a lot! Now I have to the washing up & ironing! ... Just kidding ... just kidding! All the best & don't forget to put the bicycle seats on! Just remember two things ... [1]. Persevere & you'll win through ... [2]. If at first you don't succeed ... then it's just as well you're not sky-diving! Seriously though ... the best of luck to you all!
ReplyDeleteGary Lovell-Shippey!
Gary thanks for lending us Lynette - very kind - we promise to bring her back in one piece - so she can continue looking after you. I recommend you just leave clothes on the floor - after a while a Laundry Fairy usually appears and takes them away - at least thats what happens in this house.
ReplyDeleteGoodluck guys! Wishing you all the best and hope the muscles stay strong! thinking of you all the way! Andrea, Jason and family!
ReplyDeleteDude, they say "hell hath no fury, as that of a woman scorned" ... Well, let me tell you ... They are so wrong, man!
ReplyDeleteHell hath no fury, as that of my wife when the house is in a mess!!
How are you lot getting on? Lynette said you guys had a hard time of it today. Start some carbo-loading - I'll tell Lynette to start feeding you ONLY boiled pasta - Once you have that, you'll not stop riding - Just to get away!
Hang in there you lot & all the best!
Dad, we are so proud of you! Keep encouraging and abusing your wonderful friends!
