LEJOG DAY 1

LEJOG DAY ! by faroukm at Garmin Connect - Details

(Click on above link to see details of route)

Arrived by overnight sleeper in penzance this morning. The went to Land's End by car . Started the ride at around 9 am after some pics in lands end (to follow)
Lovely weather - the clouds parted and the rain dissapeared as soon as we started - clearly a sign of devine intervention blessing this endevaour or just a bit of good luck.
Breakfast in Penzance in a nice cafe - sat out for bacon rolls. The owner of Sullivans Cafe - Called "Mr Sullivan" gave us free tea and £10 for the cause !
Then to Marzion then Redruth (where my stepdad Peter and Aunty Judith were born) then Newquay area, then Wadebridge ( BIg Pastie eaten here) Then to Camelford where we checked into Pendragon Country House.

2 punctures within 5 miles today ,

Now , I have to say that Cornwall was damn hilly - Up and down all day with only about 3 miles on the flat - according to the Garmin GPS (see above) we climbed upwards 1.5 KM - ! thats a lot.
also did not realise that Camelford is build on a hill - the last 3 miles were a killer.
Will post pics soon

Will post piv or vid soon

An intimate detail - even though I drank about 6 liters today - i only peed a few mls on arrival (very bright yellow , very concentrated - resolved to drink more tomorrow,.

Now sitting down for big feast.

Tomorrow it's Devon

  1. Hi Marwan

Sounds like a good day to me. Who said Cornwall was flat? Loving the daily blog but please spare us the urulogy details.

What are you doing in a field just south of Padstow?

  2. great to hear that you visited my birthplace. Not the most beautiful town in Cornwall, but slightly flatter than Wadebridge and Camelford. Allez les medicins. Judith
