Day8

Very big day
Cycled 101 miles from Carlisle to Kilmanock in the pouring rain against the wind.
Passing Welsh Lady on holiday took pic of us entering Scotand at Gretna.

Utter misery Rain pelting down for 8 hours of the 10 we travelled.
Some long hills not too steep
Soaked and cold but despite this the group remains in remarkably cheerful spirit .
Kevin is now driving the Van.
Doing a great job found an old school friend in a Cafe in Kirkconnel
Unable to upload data from .Garmin as Sams computer is playing up

P less
Zero punctures
Bikes holding out but looking worn out like us,

Ate huge Chinese meal on arrival
And straight to bed . Fell asleep before head hit the pillow

(Hear there us a heatwave down south! )

  1. you are right about the heatwave - we had it yesterday, so went to the open-air pool in Clifton and basked in the sun. So exhausted were we that we needed a reviving glass of wine and a few olives.
